The web site for Telemundo cable channel mun2 had to pull a video that parodied the recent spate of Toyota accidents after receiving complaints and, ultimately, calls of complaints from Toyota. In the video – done in a distinct “Saturday Night Live Weekend” Update-like manner – the reason Toyotas are seemingly involved in accidents these days is not due to mechanical failures but rather to drivers being distracted by a 26-year-old model from the Dominican Republic bending over to retrieve something she has evidently dropped. The video depicted scientists determining that men were falling under the BS – booty spell – of the woman and that even the CEO of Toyota, Akido Toyoda, fell victim to the BS [with a photo of Toyoda accompanied by the spoof quote “For the record, I would hit that in a second.”
The video debuted in May but was pulled last week along with Toyota’s ads on the site – but NBC’s Telemundo Universal Group – owners of the men2 web site – are in negotiations to get Toyota ads back on the site.
