A marathon of Marvel movies as part of a promo event leading up to the opening of the upcoming “Avengers” film has sold out a month in advance [but is adding more shows…simmer down].

What’s better than Comic-Con to a fanboy? Why, a movie about fanboys attending Comic-Con, of course!

Take a quick inventory of your superpower checklist because at least eight high-profile [well, mostly high profile] superhero-themed films are set to launch in 2012.

Wielding the unwieldy name of “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters”, the sequel is moving forward with a sequel starring Nathan Fillion as Hermes.
“Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” is expected to have its world premiere debut in France in May.
A mollycoddled chameleon in a terrarium suddenly finds himself in the wild desert and now “Rango” has an Oscar as well.
“Justice League: Doom” is released next week with a Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet combo package.
“The Wolverine” – the sequel to “X Men Origins: Wolverine” – finally has an official release date.
The long expected movie based on superhero Stretch Armstrong has switched studios and lost its star.
“Jack The Giant Killer” – which was supposed to open this June – has been moved back to an opening slot next year.
